# Lectures

Here are audio and/or video links to some of my recent public talks.

[Harvard Thinks Big](http://vimeo.com/10324382), Feb '10. Here's an [account](http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2010/02/harvard-thinks-big/) of the event from the Harvard Gazette.

[Darwin 200](http://myweb.sabanciuniv.edu/darwin/presentations/) Celebrations in Istanbul, May '09. I'm proud to report that these and other appearances in Turkey have provoked a prominent Turkish creationist organization to dub Doug Futuyma and me "imported American [pagan priests](http://us1.harunyahya.com/Detail/T/EDCRFV/productId/14429/DARWINISTS_NOW_PUT_THEIR_HOPES_TO_AMERICAN_IMPORTED_PAGAN_PRIESTS)"

The Other Darwin: [Alfred Russel Wallace](http://info.nhpr.org/node/26736), Monadnock Summer Lyceum, New Hampshire Public Radio, Aug '09.

In 2012, Cambridge Science Festival ran a "What if...?" event in which I and a couple of others explored "alternative histories of science." Here are a [couple](http://youtu.be/ipPrzEWHVlE) of [clips](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VRBfszif3g&feature=channel&list=UL) of me on "What if Darwin hadn't gone on the voyage of the Beagle?" To see the whole event, including What If's on phrenology and phlogiston theory and a panel discussion, go [here](http://www.cambridgesciencefestival.org/Media/MediaGallery.aspx).

2013 saw, in November, the Centenary of Wallace's death and a corresponding flurry of Wallace-related activity, including, at Harvard, an opportunity to meet the man himself (channelled by me) \[[sound only](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeSbLQayEkQ&feature=youtube_gdata), and of occasionally dubious quality\]. [Here's](http://www.nytimes.com/video/opinion/100000002534565/the-animated-life-of-a-r-wallace.html) a lovely animation of the Wallace story created by Sharon Shattuck and Flora Lichtman for which I did some of the narration. [Here's](http://downloads.royalsociety.org/events/2013/wallace-legacy/berry.mp3) my talk at the Royal Society's Wallace symposium; here a [radio interview](http://radiowest.kuer.org/post/life-adventures-and-discoveries-r-wallace); and here a [podcast](http://situsci.podomatic.com/entry/2013-10-28T09_53_43-07_00) and a [lecture](http://vimeo.com/77615372) from a visit to the University of Alberta.
